Who we are
Situated between York’s outer ring road and Rawcliffe Lake, CMC offers a warm welcome to all who join us week by week for our worship. In addition, we have a busy Sunday School, creche, small groups and our monthly Praise Service - Moor Praise.
If you would like to join us you would be more than welcome, our Sunday Service can be found on our home page. Follow the links above to find out more. Don’t worry if you feel that you won’t know anyone - you soon will!
What can I expect? Firstly, all are welcome. Our Sunday Service starts at 10am and lasts just over an hour. There is plenty of free parking, lots of loos and level access. Sunday School takes place alongside the morning service.
Services are largely free of ridged structure, with both modern worship songs and traditional hymns. We have comfortable chairs and a modern sound system with microphones for readers and preachers, and a hearing induction loop. Refreshments are served afterwards. Dress: informal.
We also have a lively praise service, Moor Praise, on the 1st Sunday of the month at 7pm. If you enjoy expressing worship in song, this one’s for you.
Local Ecumenical Partnership When were birthed out of the passion of the Anglican and Methodist and have an agreement to operate together. Our system works presently by oversight switching between denominations every 5 years (we are currently Anglican!). However, we always retain a flavour of our sister denomination - the 2nd Sunday each month has a Methodist Local Preacher teaching us. Whoever and whichever, we still just want to make Jesus known!
Pastoral needs: We have a church-wide Pastoral Care programme. If you need to speak to someone urgently, click on the button below. If you would like us to pray for you, use the link at the top of the page.
If you are a church member or live in the Clifton Moor area and have a pastoral issue, then complete this form and someone will get in touch.
